  • Sparkfun – best source for arduino and other hardware – fast and support the open source movement – also they have a lot of great tutorials I used to ramp up in electronics/hardware.
  • Hacker-in-Residence: Flying Robots – I used the SparkFun ‘Hacker-in-Residcnce’ program to kick off this project – apply here if you are interested as well.
  • Arduino – Arduino is an open-source electronics prototyping platform based on flexible, easy-to-use hardware and software. It’s intended for artists, designers, hobbyists and anyone interested in creating interactive objects or environments.
  • Some video and image examples of the form factor I’m going for – initial basketball size, then go smaller as design progresses – Spherical Flight Vehicle, Kyosho Space Ball, Puzzlebox Orbit, or GimBall.
